Dear Mr. Gent,
CHAIRMAN
The Rt. Hon. Sir Malcolm Robertson G.C.M.G., K.B.E., M.P.
SECRETARY-GENERAL
A. J. S. White, O.B.E.
24th October, 1941.
Thank you for your letter of the 20th October (Ref:53611/3/41), in which you inform us that the University of Hong Kong wishes to obtain the first year's grant from the Britisł Council of £1,000.
This seems to me quite in order and we will proceed with the payment; I am grateful to you for your suggestion in the second paragraph of your letter of the method in which the payment should be made.
I note that you say that three students have been chosen by the Sino-British Cultural Association I presume that this is a first batch and that the allocation of the funds will be governed according to the code telegram from 0.A. G. Hong Kong, 11th January, 1941, attached to your letter of the 20th January, 1941.
Yours sincerely,
